Press Release:Prime-Minister Taur Matan Ruak appoints Mr Azevedo Marçal as his new Chief of Staff
Dili, August 10th 2020: His Excellency the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, last week appointed Mr Azevedo Lourenço da Costa Marçal as his new Chief of Staff, replacing his predecessor Mr Afonso Henriques Ferreira Côrte-Real. The new appointment is based on Dispatch No. 068/PM/VIII/2020.

Mr Azevedo Lourenço da Costa Marçal has a Ph.D. in Economics and International Trade, from the Capital University of Economics and Business, in Beijing, China. Before assuming the position of Chief of Staff, Mr Azevedo served as Technical Chief Coordinator in the Office of the former President of the Oe-cusse-Ambeno-RAEOA Special Administrative Region Authority, during the term of Mr José Luís Guterres, and later moved to the Government Palace, as Advisor to the Prime-Minister in Public Finance Management and Good Governance.
