Dili, May 3rd, 2019: H.E. the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, received a visit from the General-Director for Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MMC) of the United State of America, Caroline T. Nguyen, accompanied by the USA Ambassador to East Timor, Kathleen M. Fitzpatrick, this Friday, at the Government Palace in Dili.
The Minister of Legislative Reform and Parliamentary Affairs (MRLAP), Fidelis Leite Magalhães, and the National Executive Director of the Compact Development Team – Timor Leste CDT-TL, Ambassador Constâncio Pinto, who informed the Prime Minister about the agreement that was signed between Timor-Leste and MCC, also attended the meeting.
The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Minister for Legislative Reform and Parliamentary Affairs (MRLAP), Fidelis Leite Magalhães, and the MCC Director General for Europe, Asia, Pacific and Latin America, Caroline T. Nguyen, signed an agreement implementation of the MCC program on May 3rd, 2019.
With this agreement, MCC will provide a US$ 7,300,000 fund to the Government of Timor-Leste to develop programs, based on the previous plan defined by the two countries. END
