PM- Taur Matan Ruak convenes meeting with Development Partners to focus on the priorities according to the VIII Government program

Dili, June 2nd, 2020: His Excellency the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, convened, this Tuesday, a meeting with the representatives of multilateral organizations in Timor-Leste, or Development Partners, namely with the Resident Coordinator of UN in Timor-Leste, the World Bank and UNDP. This meeting was held at the Government Palace, in Dili.
In this meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Finance, Fernando Hanjam and the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães, the Chief Executive opened with a brief introduction to the Development Partners, about the vision and political orientation on the national development priorities. The objective is for the Development Partners to focus on their best performance activities in the priorities that the VIII Constitutional Government outlined in its program, and proposes to achieve during its mandate.
“The purpose of this meeting is, firstly, to hear the vision and political guidance on the development priorities for Timor-Leste, from His Excellency the Prime Minister. Thus, we intend to pave the way for the future, in order to, within the mandate of the VIII Government, we can coordinate better all our development priorities and, also, beneficiate from the support of our Development Partners. In this context, and on the part of the PCM, we will seek to support the translation of these broad general lines, conveyed by the Prime Minister, into concrete actions from each of the ministerial lines “, said the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Leite Magalhães, to the journalists, after the meeting.
After the meeting with the Head of Government, the Minister of PCM, the Minister of Finance and the Development Partners continued meeting to deepen the political vision and guidelines of the Prime Minister, and how the various ministries can implement these actions, according to the guidelines that have already been defined.
